Wireless Logic’s Portugal investment is set to strengthen the country’s Internet of Things ecosystem as the global connectivity provider commits around €1 million to establish and expand its Portuguese operations through the end of 2027.

The move forms part of Wireless Logic’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence across the Iberian Peninsula. Portugal is expected to become an important market for connected infrastructure, smart cities, electric mobility, energy, fleet management and digital payment systems.

The company also sees Portugal as more than a domestic opportunity. Its geographic and economic relationship with Spain, combined with links to Portuguese-speaking markets such as Brazil, could make the country a strategic base for further international expansion.

Wireless Logic Plans €1 Million Investment Through 2027

Wireless Logic plans to invest approximately €1 million in Portugal by the end of 2027.

According to Afonso Freitas, Business Development Principal Manager Iberia at Wireless Logic, the investment will support several areas of the company’s Portuguese operation.

These include strengthening the local structure, developing network capabilities and services, marketing activities, institutional presence and supporting commercial and technical expansion.

The company also intends to establish a local team, with additional resources expected in business development and technical operations.

Wireless Logic expects the Portuguese operation to develop progressively as IoT adoption increases.

Portugal Becomes Part of Wireless Logic’s Iberian Strategy

The Wireless Logic Portugal investment follows the company’s existing development in Spain and other European markets.

According to Freitas, geographical, cultural and economic proximity between Portugal and Spain should make it easier to integrate the company’s Iberian operations.

Portugal is also experiencing growing demand for connected technologies.

Fleet management, electric mobility, energy infrastructure, payment systems and smart cities are among the sectors identified by Wireless Logic as having significant opportunities for IoT adoption.

These applications depend on devices being able to communicate reliably across different mobile networks and geographic locations.

Smart Cities Could Become a Key Growth Area

Smart city infrastructure is one of the areas targeted by Wireless Logic as it expands in Portugal.

Modern cities increasingly depend on connected devices to manage infrastructure and collect real-time information.

IoT technology can support applications including smart lighting, parking management, building systems, security infrastructure and environmental monitoring.

Wireless Logic’s own smart-city portfolio uses technologies including LPWAN, 4G and 5G connectivity for connected urban applications. The company says its solutions can support infrastructure ranging from street lighting and building management to security and transport systems.

Instead of relying on a single mobile network, businesses can manage connected assets across different networks and locations.

Wireless Logic operates its dedicated IoT network, Conexa, alongside connectivity-management technologies designed to give companies greater control over connected devices.

This strategy also complements Wireless Logic’s existing global expansion.

The company has continued growing internationally through investments and acquisitions, including its July 2026 acquisition of Houston-based managed IoT connectivity provider SIMETRY, which strengthened its North American operations.

Wireless Logic has also established an initial financial target for its Portuguese business.

The company estimates that revenue generated in Portugal could reach approximately €2 million by the end of 2027.

However, Freitas emphasized that development will be progressive and will depend on project maturity and overall market growth.

That distinction is important because the €2 million figure represents a forecast rather than guaranteed revenue.

The company’s investment is therefore a longer-term bet on increasing IoT adoption across Portugal.
