William Fregosi, set
and lighting designer, recently retired as Technical Coordinator/Scenic
Designer for Theater Arts at MIT after 35 years of service. He has also been a Visiting
Instructor at University of Chicago. Bill received his BFA from
Boston University and his MFA from Brandeis. He has designed for
Theater Company of Boston, Hasty Pudding Shows, National Jewish Theater,
and Boston Center for the Arts. He designed for the Boston Symphony
Orchestra Young People's Concerts, the first two seasons for Boston Lyric
Opera, and five seasons for Associate Artists Opera as well as for WCVB,
WGBH, and WHDH TV and for special events. Bill has lectured
nationwide for the Wagner Societies of New York, Boston, Honolulu and
Northern California (San Francisco). He is a regular reviewer for
The Opera Quarterly.
For Intermezzo, Bill has assisted with productions of The Medium, The Old Maid and the Thief, The Seven Deadly Sins, A Game of Chance, The Scarf, Curlew River, Socrate, and the world premiers of The Inman Diaries by Thomas Oboe Lee, and A Last Goodbye by Charles Shadle. In 2009, Mr. Fregosi returns as set and lighting designer for Vaughan Williams' Riders to the Sea and Britten's The Prodigal Son. |
